Inter-Self-Help Group Youth Dialogue

On 21 October, more than 50 youths from the four Self-Help Groups (SHGs) joined Deputy Prime Minister Lawrence Wong for the first-ever Inter-Self-Help Group youth dialogue at Suntec Convention Centre.

In his address, DPM Wong highlighted the vital role of SHGs in shaping Singapore's future social compact. The SHGs have an active role in serving their respective communities, collaborative initiatives in education and other areas, and the cross-deployment of volunteers across different domains.

Youths discussed issues close to their hearts, in the spirit of taking Singapore forward together. This conversation contributes to the ongoing Forward Singapore consultation, which will wrap up at year end. The shared ideas will be directed towards ways to brighten Singapore's future, spanning new skills, redefining success, enhancing social support, caring for our seniors, and embracing collective responsibility.
